Jose Mourinho has attempted to play down the fracas between between Paul Pogba and Mark Noble during Manchester United's goalless draw with West Ham United.
The two men came to blows late in Thursday evening's match at the London Stadium after Noble reacted angrily to a tackle from the Red Devils midfielder.
Referee Jon Moss showed the players a yellow card for their part in the incident, but both men could be seen hugging at the end of the stalemate.
Mourinho took a romantic view of the on-field showdown, telling reporters: "They looked in love. Cuddles, hugs and kisses, changing shirts.
"So I think it was good, competitive. We needed points to finish second. They don't win anything, because they did the job last match at Leicester but they play to win and the changes David [Moyes] made was to try that.
"Moss was there and he resolved the problem in a good way because the game was intense, but the game was correct. When I saw the reaction of the players I believe that was nothing extraordinary."
The point for Man United was enough for them to secure second place in the Premier League table.
