Nemanja Vidic's current form is "worthy" of a new contract, according to his Manchester United manager David Moyes.
Vidic has struggled with a host of injuries in the past two seasons, but the Serbian has started all four of United's Premier League games so far this campaign.
Moyes believes that if Vidic continues to put in good performances, a contract extension will follow.
"It is something I have not discussed with the chief executive yet, but Vida's form at the moment would suggest he is well worthy of that [a new contract]," Moyes told ITV Sport.
"Probably his injuries have been the reason why you might have to look at it, so the big thing is to see how he goes.
"But his form has been very good. We just need to hope he gets through and doesn't pick up any more injuries."
Vidic's side take on Manchester City in the Premier League tomorrow at 4pm.
