Marcus Rashford has said that Manchester United coach Benni McCarthy has "definitely" played an important role in his strong form during the 2022-23 campaign.
The 25-year-old has scored eight goals and registered three assists in 18 appearances for Man United this season, with his form earning him a spot in the England squad for the 2022 World Cup.
Rashford has four goals and two assists in 13 Premier League appearances this term, while he has managed three goals and one assist in four Europa League outings.
The England international was also on the scoresheet against Aston Villa in the EFL Cup on Thursday, and he will be bidding to sign off for the World Cup with a positive performance against Fulham on Sunday.
Rashford has said that Man United coach McCarthy has played a key role in his form this term.
"He's [McCarthy] definitely helped me a lot," Rashford told Sky Sports News. "To have them, attack-minded coaches, within the squad is great for us forward players. It's just day in, day out, we're thinking about scoring goals, rather than the other bits.
"We've got him always there, speaking to us about it. I think my aim is to get back to enjoying my football and at the minute I am, so I'm not complaining. If I'm scoring goals and winning, then I'm happy."
McCarthy was brought to the club by Erik ten Hag over the summer, with the Dutchman revealing that he wanted "someone with a different voice".
"There was still one place in our coaching staff that I wanted to fill," he told MUTV at the time. "Someone with a different voice and Benni is that one.
"He has experience as a manager. He was a coach in the professional level and he was a former striker, a really successful striker as well.
"He will focus on the positioning and attacking. I'm not saying only the strikers, but also the integration from the full-backs and midfielders. Our way of play has to be dynamic."
McCarthy played for the likes of Ajax, Celta Vigo, Porto, Blackburn Rovers and West Ham United during his professional career.
The 44-year-old also turned out for South Africa 79 times between 1997 and 2012, finding the back of the net on 31 occasions, before managing Cape Town City and Amazulu.
Man United, as mentioned, will face Fulham in their next game on Sunday afternoon, and they will then not be back in competitive action until the week commencing December 19, with Burnley their opponents in the fourth round of the EFL Cup body check tags ::
