Wayne Rooney has praised Manchester United's patience following their 1-0 win at Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday.
The striker scored the winning goal with 10 minutes left to play at Craven Cottage as the Red Devils opened up a 10-point lead at the top of the table.
"We knew it was going to be difficult we had a few chances we hit the post and crossbar three times but we had to keep going and keep the belief. Thankfully the goal eventually arrived and we hung on," Rooney told ESPN.
"It is just one of those things we had to keep our focus and keep pushing for the win. We are in a good position but we are not going to get carried away. We will keep going and see where we stand with three of four games to go."
Champions Manchester City can cut the gap back down to seven points on Sunday if they beat Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium.
