Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has been ruled out of the club's match with Chelsea through injury.
Rooney had been sent on a "hot weather break" in an attempt to aid his recovery from a groin problem, but manager David Moyes has revealed that the England international will not feature at Stamford Bridge.
The 50-year-old told reporters: "He has come back feeling fresh, but he won't be ready for Chelsea.
"He's been doing some running in training, and he looks quite good after a break. He's done a lot of strengthening work around his groin.
"Hopefully he will benefit from the break, but he isn't ready for this game."
Moyes also revealed that Robin van Persie remains absent from the Manchester United squad, leaving Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez as the club's only two fit strikers.
