Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has suggested that Raphael Varane will be involved in Sunday's Premier League clash with Southampton at St Mary's.
The France international was officially presented as a new Man United player before last weekend's 2021-22 season opener against Leeds United at Old Trafford.
Varane has now had a full week of training with his new teammates, and Solskjaer has said that the centre-back is in line to be in the squad against the Saints.
Jadon Sancho made his debut off the bench against Leeds, meanwhile, and the fellow new arrival is now pushing to be involved in the starting XI against Ralph Hasenhuttl's side.
"You'll see on Sunday (if Sancho and Varane start), they've worked well. They've had minutes, we've had a very good week ourselves, we'll see who makes the flight down to Southampton on Sunday," Solskjaer told reporters during his pre-match press conference.
Bruno Fernandes scored three times in the 5-1 win over Leeds last weekend, while Mason Greenwood and Fred were also on the scoresheet in an impressive performance.
