Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag has praised Andre Onana for his reaction to a difficult start to the campaign for the Cameroonian.
The 27-year-old conceded 14 goals in his first six appearances for the Red Devils and was heavily criticised for his performance against Bayern Munich in the Champions League, with the goalkeeper making a huge mistake in the first half, as he allowed a tame Leroy Sane strike to find the back of the net.
Onana has now kept back-to-back clean sheets, producing a shutout against Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday, before again keeping out the opposition in Tuesday's EFL Cup clash with Crystal Palace.
The summer arrival from Inter Milan will now be aiming to make it three clean sheets in a row when Palace head to Old Trafford again on Saturday, this time in the Premier League.
Ten Hag was full of praise for the stopper for his performances in the last two games, and the Dutchman is confident that the Cameroonian is now moving in the right direction.
"Of course, it's always when you [get a] clean sheet, it will always give the 'keeper confidence, especially when you contribute, when you have some great saves, like on Saturday, when he had that header, it was a very important save there, and now in the end, he had two fantastic saves," Ten Hag told reporters.
"So that will help and build his confidence. But he has personality, he deals with situations, with pressure, he can do that and I think he's starting to do that now."
Man United have now won their last two games against Burnley and Palace following three successive losses, which led to a host of criticism.
The Red Devils were at home against Palace on Tuesday and their next three are also at Old Trafford, with the Eagles heading back to Manchester in the league this weekend.
Man United will then host Galatasaray in the Champions League next Tuesday before welcoming Brentford in the league four days later, with their next away game coming at Sheffield United on October 21.
"The mood with us is always good, but of course, when you are not winning, at United, there is disappointment, there is frustration, but the togetherness is always there with us," Ten Hag told reporters on Tuesday when asked about the home matches coming up.
"We know that we are not now in the position where we want to be, yeah. So we have to build up, we have to catch up.
"Then you have to go from game to game, working on the process and working on the results. We don't think too far ahead, the next game is the most important, always."
Man United's indifferent start to the new Premier League season has seen them collect nine points from six matches, which has left them in ninth position in the table.
