Head coach Erik ten Hag is reportedly taking the approach of holding one-on-one chats with his Manchester United players.

Ten Hag had been hoping that last year's third-placed finish in the Premier League, EFL Cup triumph and appearance in the FA Cup final had laid the foundations for better things to come.

Instead, United have lost eight of their 15 matches in all competitions during 2023-24, with the club down in eighth position in the top flight and at risk of failing to qualify for the Champions League last 16.

Although the Red Devils won three successive games before the international break, successive 3-0 defeats to Manchester City and a second-string Newcastle United have highlighted the gulf in quality between Man United and the teams above them in the Premier League table.

Reports have began to emerge that Ten Hag could be fighting for his job in the dugout at Old Trafford with his side already seven points adrift of the top five.

There have also been suggestions that some of United's first-team squad are having doubts about the qualities and capabilities of the former Ajax boss.

United are currently preparing for a trip to face Fulham, who can move ahead of United with a victory at Craven Cottage, before they square off versus Copenhagen in an important Champions League encounter.

According to The Sun, Ten Hag is now holding individual talks with each of his players in a bid to improve the situation.

The report claims that the 53-year-old is eager to resolve any personal differences and to address how they can move forward both on and off the pitch.

That development comes at a time when there have been mixed reports over whether Ten Hag is under pressure to deliver an immediate upturn in results.

Although alternatives have allegedly been identified, Ten Hag is said to be in no immediate danger of losing his job during the current schedule.

After the trips to Fulham and Copenhagen, United play host to Luton Town in the Premier League, with the hope being that wins in the aforementioned contests can lift the mood at the Theatre of Dreams.

With regards to their Champions League fate, though, failure to defeat Copenhagen on Wednesday will leave United in third place in their group ahead of a trip to Galatasaray, their rivals for second spot behind Bayern Munich. body check tags ::
