Brazil boss Tite has insisted that he is not surprised by Manchester United's interest in signing Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred.
United are hopeful of completing a £52m deal for the 25-year-old in the coming days, with Fred set for talks over personal terms and to undergo a medical at Carrington tomorrow.
The Brazil international was handed a late cameo during his side's 2-0 friendly win over Croatia at Anfield this afternoon, and Tite is hopeful that his future can be resolved as quickly as possible.
"When this happens, and it is inevitable, they are going to come to us and our advice to them is resolve this as soon as you can so your head is back with us and focusing on the national team," Tite told reporters.
"If I was a manager I'd ask to sign him as well."
Fred, who was previously also linked with Manchester City, is expected to be part of Brazil's squad for this summer's World Cup in Russia.
