Manchester United are reportedly hopeful of completing a deal to sign Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk by Tuesday.
The Brazilian midfielder is currently in England with his national team and came on as a substitute during the 2-0 win over Croatia at Anfield earlier this afternoon.
United are expected to use Fred's presence in the North-West of England to finalise a £52m deal to bring him to Old Trafford over the coming days.
The Manchester Evening News reports that Fred's agent will hold talks with United on Monday, while a medical is also expected to take place at Carrington tomorrow.
Both parties are hopeful of agreeing a deal by Tuesday, with the 25-year-old Brazil international set to sign a four-year contract with the option of a further 12 months.
United boss Jose Mourinho is also understood to be interested in signing another midfielder this summer, with Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Marco Verratti among those linked with the club.
