UEFA president Michel Platini has revealed that the European governing body would like to work closely with former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
The Scotsman has been away from the sport since retiring from management at the end of last season following 26 years in charge of the Red Devils.
However, according to The Telegraph journalist Henry Winter, Platini has claimed today that he wants Ferguson to "play a role with us behind the scenes, helping shape the direction of the sport."
Ferguson, who underwent a hip operation this summer, became a director at United following his decision to retire.
