Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal looks set to be in charge for Monday's Premier League clash with Chelsea, having checked into the team hotel as normal ahead of the game.
The Dutchman's future has come under intense scrutiny since his side were beaten 2-0 by Stoke City on Boxing Day, condemning the Red Devils to their fourth defeat in a row - the first time that has happened in a single season since 1961.
It is also seven games without a win for United, who now trail Tottenham Hotspur by three points in the race for a Champions League spot.
Van Gaal hinted that he could resign following the Stoke loss, while other reports have suggested that the United board are on the verge of sacking the former Barcelona and Netherlands manager.
However, it is understood that he took training as normal on Sunday before checking into the team hotel ahead of Monday's showdown with his compatriot Guus Hiddink and Chelsea.
