Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has conceded that he still does not know which system is the best fit for his team.
The Dutchman started the season using a 3-5-2 formation which resulted in defensive struggles for his side, forcing him to stray from his early campaign plans.
Despite being seven months into his reign, Van Gaal has admitted that he still attempting to find the right system to suit the Red Devils.
When asked if he had found his best formation, the 63-year-old told reporters: "No, I don't think so. I have played now already five or six systems and I am looking still for the balance.
"But this system is more attractive and I can play with more attacking players. That's the reason I am doing that.
"In spite of the fact that we are looking for the balance, our results and our defensive organisation are not bad, and we also score a lot of goals. So, I cannot say that I am very disappointed about that."
United face Preston North End in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Monday.
