Louis van Gaal has revealed that he would welcome a return to Premier League management if the right offer came along for the chance "to get one over" on former club Manchester United.
The 66-year-old is still bitter about the manner of his Old Trafford sacking in the summer of 2016, coming immediately on the back of success in the FA Cup - his only piece of major silverware in two seasons at the club.
Van Gaal, out of work since leaving United 19 months ago, is eyeing up another top English job as he believes that he has something to prove to the Red Devils chiefs who cut his contract a year short.
"I will probably not manage a club anymore," he told The Mirror. "I would make one exception - if a big English club comes for me, then I would do it. Because then I can get the chance to get one over on Manchester United."
Van Gaal took a swipe at his former employers earlier this month by claiming that the style of football under successor Jose Mourinho "is boring".
