Louis van Gaal has conceded that Manchester United's 1-1 draw at Aston Villa feels like two points dropped.
The recalled Radamel Falcao cancelled out Christian Benteke's first-half strike, but United could not find a winner despite Gabriel Agbonlahor's sending off.
Van Gaal was 'very frustrated' that the Red Devils could not make the most of their 25-minute man advantage as his side fell short of a seventh straight Premier League win.
"Very frustrating. I think we gave two points away," the Dutchman told reporters. "We did not start well enough and because of that they could score a goal.
"We kept the ball well in the first half but we did nothing with the ball. In the second half was better but not as effective as usual. But that is football, sometimes you cannot force that.
"I'm disappointed because also in the first half we were the better team and when that's the case you have to win. But we know that in our first seven games we were also the better team but we did not win many times."
Captain Wayne Rooney echoed Van Gaal's sentiments while rejecting suggestions that United can challenge for the title this season. They are currently seven points behind Chelsea, who have a game in hand.
