Manchester United forward Robin van Persie has revealed that he feels proud following their 2-1 victory over West Ham United at Old Trafford this afternoon.
Louis van Gaal's men were given a tough encounter at home as a Wayne Rooney sending off left them defending for large periods in the second half.
"We played well. We had to fight in the second half and we did that. I'm very proud," said the Dutchman, according to BBC Sport.
"The two debutants [Paddy McNair and Luke Shaw] did great. West Ham have been playing really well, so that's why we were happy with the goals we scored early on."
The victory sees United sitting in seventh spot in the Premier League table.
