Captain Nemanja Vidic has not been named in the Manchester United squad for the club's pre-season tour of the Far East and Australia.
There has been no official reason given as to why the Serbian has not been included, but he has struggled with a knee problem in recent months and rarely played back-to-back matches last season.
Meanwhile, Robin van Persie, Shinji Kagawa and goalkeeper David de Gea will link up with their teammates later in the tour having been given extra time off after international commitments.
For a similar reason, Javier Hernandez will not take part at all and will instead train at Carrington once his holiday period has concluded.
