Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that defender Nemanja Vidic will miss his side's clash with Manchester City at the weekend.
The Serb hasn't appeared for the Red Devils since September, having undergone knee surgery.
The 31-year-old had been touted to return against CFR Cluj on Wednesday, but Ferguson says that Vidic is still a week away from action meaning that he will not play a part in the Manchester derby.
"I do not think he will play," said Ferguson. "He feels he needs another few days' training.
"He will not play in the derby if he doesn't play on Wednesday, although I wasn't considering him for Sunday anyway.
"He's showing good promise now. It is much better and I don't think he is far away."
