Manchester United winger Ashley Young has insisted that he will continue to fight for his place in the Red Devils' starting lineup.
The 27-year-old has struggled to play regularly for Sir Alex Ferguson's side this season because of injuries, and has made just six starts in the Premier League so far.
"When I was at Villa, I barely missed a match so I've found these periods when I've been out very difficult to take," The Sun quotes him as saying.
"As a footballer you always want to be playing. It is never nice when you are on the sidelines.
"I never realised how hard it was to keep yourself motivated when everybody else is out training and you are stuck inside doing rehab."
Young believes that he can adapt himself to fit into Ferguson's diamond formation.
"I wasn't worried when the diamond formation emerged," said the England international. "It was fine.
"I'm a versatile player who can operate in a number of different positions so I'm comfortable with whatever formation the manager picks."
Young joined United from Aston Villa in 2011.
