Aston Villa marksman Jhon Duran could benefit from a fresh injury blow to finally start for the Lions in Sunday's Premier League clash with Manchester United at Villa Park.
The Colombian's penchant for scoring off the bench continued with the winner in Wednesday's tremendous 1-0 Champions League victory over Bayern Munich, where Unai Emery was dealt two new concerns.
Indeed, Jacob Ramsey was forced off with an apparent groin strain in the 27th minute, before Amadou Onana also had to call it a night due to a tight hamstring on the hour mark, and both are now doubtful for Sunday's game.
Ramsey's likely absence could see Emery shift to a 4-4-2 setup as Duran partners Ollie Watkins up front, with Morgan Rogers also shifting to a wide position to cover for his stricken teammate.
Leon Bailey replaced Ramsey before being substituted himself against Bayern, so his lack of fitness could see Jaden Philogene start on the left flank instead, although Ian Maatsen is a viable alternative.
Unless Onana makes a speedy recovery, Ross Barkley should be summoned to cover for the Belgian in the centre of the park, while Youri Tielemans will no doubt hold his position.
Selected for the France squad over Real Madrid's Ferland Mendy, Lucas Digne will most likely comprise part of an unchanged backline alongside Ezri Konsa, Pau Torres, Diego Carlos and Emiliano Martinez.
Tyrone Mings (knee), Boubacar Kamara (knee) and John McGinn (thigh) are still out of action, but the former two are on the cusp of coming back from their lengthy absences.
Aston Villa possible starting lineup:
Martinez; Konsa, Carlos, Torres, Digne; Rogers, Barkley, Tielemans, Philogene; Duran, Watkins
