Sports Mole selects its final Premier League team of the week for the 2019-20 season, including Kevin De Bruyne, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Virgil van Dijk.

A unique and unforgettable Premier League season came to an end on Sunday as all 20 teams learned their final fate for the 2019-20 campaign.

Manchester United came out on top in their showdown with Leicester City to seal third place and condemn the Foxes to the Europa League, with Chelsea wrapping up the final Champions League spot by beating Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Tottenham Hotspur also guaranteed European football next season despite only drawing with Crystal Palace, leaving Wolves waiting to see whether seventh place will be good enough to join them in continental competition next term.

At the bottom, Bournemouth's 3-1 victory over Everton was not enough to keep them in the division, with Aston Villa picking up the point they needed to stay up at West Ham United.

Watford's defeat at Arsenal saw them relegated too, while there were final-day victories for the top two Liverpool and Manchester City.

Here, Sports Mole selects its final Premier League team of the week for the 2019-20 season.

It is fitting that the goalkeeper in the final team of the week of the season is the Golden Glove winner, with Ederson sealing the award courtesy of his 16th clean sheet of the campaign in Man City's big win over Norwich City.

The Brazilian is one of four Man City players to make the cut this week, with Kyle Walker also included at right wing-back having contributed an assist in addition to that clean sheet at the Etihad.

A relative dearth in outstanding midfield performances this week means that we have gone for three at the back, led by Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk, who became only the fifth player in Premier League history to play every single minute of a title-winning campaign and marked the occasion with a goal against Newcastle United.

Alongside him at the back is Brighton & Hove Albion's Lewis Dunk, who put in a man-of-the-match display during his side's win at Burnley, including a crucial block to deny Kevin Long a certain goal.

Arsenal's Kieran Tierney is moved in from left-back to centre-back to round off the trio, although his best work in the win over Watford did come when going forward, registering a goal and an assist as the Gunners sealed Watford's relegation.

Diego Rico was on the wrong end of a relegation battle as Bournemouth's hopes of a final-day miracle fell short, although the Cherries did all they could with a victory over Everton which the full-back played a major role in, including an assist for their second goal.

Arguably the standout individual performance of week came from Kevin De Bruyne, who outshone even the departing David Silva with two goals and a record-equalling 20th assist of the campaign against Norwich.

Mason Mount was not far behind De Bruyne in the performance stakes this week either, almost single-handedly securing Chelsea's place in the top four with a goal and an assist in the 2-0 win over Wolves.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang fell just short of the Golden Boot, but his two goals and an assist are more than enough to earn him a place in this XI ahead of Nathan Redmond and Jack Grealish, while the likes of Raheem Sterling and Lucas Moura also deserve honourable mentions in the attacking trio.

Gabriel Jesus rounds up the Man City quartet to lead the line, though, having opened the scoring against Norwich and gone on to play a major role in the one-sided nature of the second half.

It was a memorable occasion for Che Adams too as he netted twice from just three shots in Southampton's victory over his former club Sheffield United.
