A statement from the Kick It Out campaign insists that they welcome the comments of Rio Ferdinand and his brother Anton, who revealed earlier today that they think the organisation needs to make changes to move with the times.

Kick It Out have issued a statement to declare that they welcome the words issued by the Ferdinand brothers earlier today.

Rio and Anton Ferdinand went public with their opinion that Kick It Out must change with the times in order to stay relevant in the fight against racism in football.

A swift response from Kick It Out has sought to offer the Ferdinand brothers support.

The brief statement read: "Kick It Out very much welcomes this statement. We know and recognise the hurt that many people have gone through over the last 12 months, none more so than the Ferdinand family themselves.

"We will continue to work across the campaigning and diversity agenda with all partners to ensure the grievances of players are concluded fairly, thoroughly and swiftly."

Both Rio Ferdinand and Anton opted not to wear Kick It Out T-shirts last weekend, throwing the spotlight on the issue which has been prominent over the past week following the racist abuse suffered by Danny Rose in Serbia.
