Manchester United have reportedly not made contact with Antonio Conte over the possibility of replacing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at the helm.
Following Sunday's 5-0 humiliation at the hands of Liverpool at Old Trafford, United chiefs are now rumoured to be considering sacking Solskjaer at some point this week.
Conte - who has been out of work since leaving Inter Milan at the end of their triumphant 2020-21 campaign - is now seen as the favourite to take the reins in Manchester.
However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims contact is yet to be made, writing on Twitter: "There's no doubt on Antonio Conte decision since days. He wants Manchester United job and he'd be ready to accept. But there's still no official proposal on the table, as things stand tonight."
Conte would supposedly demand a yearly wage of £10m to replace Solskjaer, with the ex-Chelsea and Inter boss willing to make an exception to his policy of not taking over a side midway through a season.
The 52-year-old boasts four Serie A crowns, one Premier League and one FA Cup during his career as a manager, while Solskjaer's United have taken just one point from their last four Premier League games. body check tags ::
