The Red Devils were well behind fierce rivals Liverpool in the race to be England's most successful club when the Premier League came into being, but they ended a 26-year wait for a top-flight title in the competition's first season and have not looked back since.
Thirteen Premier League crowns later and United have not only established themselves as the most successful domestic team in England, but they have also catapulted themselves to the top of the football rich list.
