Manchester United will sign a new centre-forward this summer, with the club determined to bring in support and competition for Rasmus Hojlund during the 2024-25 campaign.
Indeed, Anthony Martial's exit on a free transfer, which will be officially confirmed on June 30, will leave Hojlund as Man United's only recognised first-team striker.
The Red Devils are working to a restricted budget, though, and the fact that a new centre-back and central midfielder are also required means that it will be a tricky transfer window for the club.
Here, Sports Mole takes a look at three Premier League forwards that the 20-time English champions could potentially move for during the summer market.
Dominic Solanke (Bournemouth)
Solanke was excellent for Bournemouth last season, finding the back of the net on 19 occasions in the Premier League, and he was unfortunate to be overlooked for a spot in the England squad for Euro 2024.
The 26-year-old also scored once in the FA Cup and once in the EFL Cup last term, with a very productive campaign seeing him manage 21 goals and four assists in 42 appearances.
Solanke has 77 goals in 216 matches for his current side, while he has managed 29 goals and 12 assists in 134 appearances in England's top flight, also including his time at Liverpool.
The forward was unable to make it work at either Chelsea or Liverpool, but he has developed into an excellent Premier League forward.
Solanke also excelled in Bournemouth's two league games against Man United last season, netting home and away versus the 20-time English champions, and it would not be a shock if he was on the club's radar.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Everton)
Man United are believed to be considering making a move for Calvert-Lewin this summer if they are unsuccessful in their attempts to secure the signature of Bologna's Joshua Zirkzee.
The 27-year-old scored eight times and registered three assists in 38 appearances for Everton last season, while he has 68 goals and 18 assists in 247 matches for the Toffees in total.
Calvert-Lewin's Premier League record is also strong, boasting 54 goals and 14 assists in 213 appearances, and there have been claims that he could be available for around £40m, with his contract at Goodison Park due to expire next summer.
The Englishman is unlikely to be a priority target for the Red Devils, but they could certainly do a lot worse than have a serious look at a player who is capable of being one of the most impactful strikers in the Premier League when he is clear from fitness issues.
Ivan Toney (Brentford)
Man United's links with Toney have certainly quietened in recent weeks, but the England international is believed to be on the club's centre-forward shortlist for the summer.
Toney scored 20 Premier League goals during the 2022-23 campaign, while he ended last season with four in England's top flight after returning from a betting-related suspension in January.
The 28-year-old has 72 goals and 23 assists in 141 matches for Brentford, including 36 goals and 11 assists in 83 outings in England's top flight.
Toney's contract is due to expire next summer, which could potentially make him available for around £40m during the summer transfer window.
The striker is currently with the England squad at this summer's European Championship but is yet to take to the field for Gareth Southgate's side, who have advanced to the round of 16.
