Ajax manager Alfred Schreuder has expressed his desire to keep Antony at the club this summer amid rumours of a potential move to Manchester United.
The winger has been linked with a reunion with former boss Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford ahead of the 2022-23 campaign, but United have failed to meet the Dutch club's valuation so far, according to reports.
Ten Hag remains keen on bringing the Brazilian to the Premier League, but Schreuder is keen to retain the 22-year-old's services after losing several first-team players already during the transfer window.
Speaking publicly, when asked whether he was afraid that Antony would be leaving the club, Schreuder said: "No, no. We have sold a certain amount of players and I am expecting nobody else to leave.
"We talk on a daily basis. It would be very bad for us if we would lose another starting player."
The former Club Brugge boss, who has replaced Ten Hag in the dugout at the Johan Cruyff Arena this summer, is referring to Ajax's sales of Lisandro Martinez, Sebastien Haller, Ryan Gravenberch and Noussair Mazraoui, whilst Nicolas Tagliafico is on the verge of joining Lyon.
Meanwhile, Antony has become the subject of interest from the likes of United, as well as Chelsea and Liverpool, this summer following an excellent 2021-22 campaign in which he scored 12 goals and registered eight assists in 33 appearances across all competitions. body check tags ::
