Anthony Martial's Manchester United career has been handed a lifeline, with the club's hierarchy keen to keep the forward this summer, according to a report.
The Frenchman's future with the Red Devils looked to be over after he was sent to Sevilla on a six-month loan deal in January, where he scored just once in 12 appearances across all competitions.
After making an immediate impact following his £50m move to Old Trafford from Monaco in 2015, Martial has struggled to live up to much of the hype, particularly across the past two seasons.
However, despite the potential of moving on the 26-year-old this summer, the United hierarchy are encouraging manager Erik ten Hag to find a place for the forward in his plans this season, according to talkSport.
The radio station is reporting that the hierarchy believe a revival of Martial's career at the club could save them a significant amount of money in the transfer window, with Ten Hag said to be keen on a reunion with Ajax's Brazilian winger Antony.
Despite the Dutchman reportedly urging those in the boardroom to up their offers for both Antony and Lisandro Martinez, it is suggested that there are those within the club that believe they have been priced out for a move for the winger, and should instead look to reincorporate Martial ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.
Martial has continued to train with United throughout pre-season, and scored the third goal in their 4-0 rout over Liverpool in a friendly out in Thailand on Tuesday. body check tags ::
