Arsenal are reportedly set to miss out on a summer deal for Gent forward Jonathan David, with Real Betis moving to secure the youngster's signature ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.

David has been in excellent form for his Belgian club during the 2019-20 campaign, scoring 23 times and providing 10 assists in 40 appearances in all competitions.

Arsenal have recently been credited with an interest in the 20-year-old as the Gunners seemingly prepare for life after club captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

However, according to Estadio Deportivo, the Canada international is heading for La Liga outfit Betis, who have agreed a €15m (£13.5m) deal with Gent.

Manchester United, Chelsea and Inter Milan have also previously been credited with an interest in David, who has scored 11 times in 12 appearances for his national side.

David Luiz, meanwhile, could reportedly leave the Emirates Stadium on a free transfer this summer. body check tags ::
