Manchester United have reportedly been handed a boost in their bid to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez.
While the Premier League giants were recently linked with the Spain international, it was suggested that they would have to meet a £125m release clause.
With the 25-year-old also possessing a contract until 2026, Atletico will not feel pressured into parting ways with Saul for anything below that figure.
However, The Telegraph claims that the La Liga outfit are willing to consider offers in the region of £85m, providing that their long-serving player expresses a desire to leave Wanda Metropolitano.
Much could depend on whether Paul Pogba leaves Old Trafford in January or in the summer, with United currently maintaining that the World Cup winner is not for sale.
