Manchester United have made a breakthrough with Eric Bailly in talks over a new contract, according to a report.
The Ivory Coast international has been contemplating his future at Old Trafford due to a lack of playing time this campaign.
Bailly has started just 14 games all season and has not featured at all since March 11, having contracted coronavirus while representing his country last month.
United have been eager to tie the centre-back down to fresh terms, though, given that he is due to become a free agent in 12 months' time.
ESPN claims that Bailly has been persuaded to put pen to paper on a four-year contract after being given assurances by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Bailly, a rumoured target for Real Betis and teams in Italy, is said to be satisfied that he will be given more opportunities if he can prove his fitness. body check tags ::
