Barcelona are reportedly not actively working on a deal to sign Mason Greenwood from Manchester United.
After seeing all criminal charges against him dropped in February 2023, the one-cap England international has hit the ground running since joining Getafe on loan in the summer window.
Greenwood has contributed eight goals and five assists from 28 appearances in all competitions this season, having a direct hand in 11 goals in 23 La Liga matches.
As things stand, Greenwood will be back at Old Trafford this summer, as Getafe do not have the option to make his loan permanent, but he is not thought to have a future at Man United.
The Red Devils were supposedly planning to welcome him back to the club last summer, but having faced significant backlash, they performed a U-turn on their decision but decided against terminating his contract.
The 22-year-old's deal only runs for another year, and amid claims that he is happy and settled in Spain, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have been tipped to battle for his services this summer.
However, according to Fabrizio Romano, Barca are not currently pursuing a deal for Greenwood, as the La Liga champions are instead focused on alternative attacking targets.
Nevertheless, Man United are understood to be open to severing ties with Greenwood completely this summer, although the club are waiting for Sim Jim Ratcliffe's INEOS team to deliver their verdict before making a final call.
After completing his 27.7% acquisition of Man United, Ratcliffe said that a "fair decision" would be made on Greenwood's future, but a route back into Erik ten Hag's first team is still considered unlikely, as he will supposedly be blocked from going on their pre-season tour.
The attacker has not played for the Red Devils since the days of Ralf Rangnick in January 2022, shortly before he was first arrested on suspicion of rape and assault after online accusations.
Greenwood was then further arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and making threats to kill before being released on bail, and he was immediately suspended by Man United as investigations were carried out.
Shortly after being arrested for a third time, having breached his bail conditions by contacting his accuser, Greenwood was charged with one count of attempted rape, one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and one count of engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour.
The 22-year-old was due to stand trial in November 2023, but the Crown Prosecution Service announced in February of last year that all charges had been dropped, as there was no longer a realistic chance of conviction due to the emergence of new material and key witnesses withdrawing.
Prior to his arrest and suspension, Greenwood made 129 senior appearances for Man United, scoring 35 goals and providing 12 assists across all tournaments.
The forward earned his maiden England cap against Iceland in a September 2020 Nations League game, before he and Manchester City's Phil Foden were then kicked out of the camp for breaching COVID-19 rules. body check tags ::
