Bayern Munich are reportedly weighing up a move for Eintracht Frankfurt forward Randal Kolo Muani during this summer's transfer window.
The Bundesliga champions will sign a new centre-forward in the upcoming market, having failed to bring in a replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who left for Barcelona last year.
Napoli's Victor Osimhen continues to be heavily linked with a move to Allianz Arena, but according to German journalist Florian Plettenberg, there is also interest in Kolo Muani.
The 24-year-old has been in impressive form for Frankfurt during the 2022-23 campaign, featuring on 40 occasions in all competitions, scoring 20 goals and registering 14 assists in the process.
The forward is also now an important player for France, representing his national side on seven occasions, scoring one goal and registering one assist for the 2022 World Cup finalists.
Kolo Muani made the move to Frankfurt last summer off the back of scoring 23 goals and registering 16 assists in 87 appearances for Nantes.
Manchester United have also been credited with an interest in the forward, who still has four years left to run on his current deal with the Eagles.
Plettenberg claims that Kolo Muani is seen as an alternative to Osimhen, with Napoli wanting in the region of €150m (£132.8m) to sell the Nigeria international this summer.
There have allegedly not been any negotiations with Frankfurt over a summer deal, but Bayern are currently discussing Kolo Muani internally, with the club's head coach Thomas Tuchel an admirer of his talents.
Bayern are without a victory in any of their last four matches in all competitions, with their last success proving to be a 1-0 win over Freiburg in the Bundesliga on April 8.
Since then, the Munich giants have been beaten 4-1 on aggregate by Manchester City in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, in addition to drawing with Hoffenheim and losing to Mainz 05 in the Bundesliga.
Bayern have dropped off the top of the Bundesliga table, currently sitting second, one point behind leaders Borussia Dortmund.
Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is the team's leading goalscorer this season with 17 in all competitions, while Jamal Musiala (15), Leroy Sane (13), Serge Gnabry (12) and Sadio Mane (12) have also managed double figures.
The German outfit have also been linked with Harry Kane, but a deal for the Tottenham Hotspur forward this summer is believed to be unrealistic at this stage. body check tags ::
