Bayern Munich are reportedly preparing to battle Real Madrid for the signature of RB Leipzig centre-back Dayot Upamecano during this summer's transfer window.
The Frenchman's future has been the subject of much speculation in recent weeks, with a whole host of clubs believed to be interested in a summer deal.
Manchester United and Manchester City have recently been credited with an interest, but the defender is allegedly keen on a move to the Bernabeu ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.
According to Bild, though, Bayern are determined to complete a deal for the 21-year-old and could offer to meet the release clause in his Leipzig contract, which will allegedly drop to £55m this summer.
Upamecano - also previously linked with Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal - has made 29 appearances for his Bundesliga club during the 2019-20 campaign.
The coronavirus outbreak could have a huge impact on this summer's transfer window, and it remains to be seen when the market will open as the 2020-21 campaign start date is likely to be pushed back.
