Bayern Munich are reportedly still hoping to sign Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane this summer.

The 29-year-old was again in excellent form for Spurs during the 2022-23 campaign, finding the back of the net on 32 occasions in all competitions, with 30 of those goals coming in the Premier League.

Tottenham finished down in eighth position in the table, though, meaning that there will be no European football at the club next season, while Kane's contract only has 12 months left to run.

The England captain continues to be strongly linked with an exit, although he has been included in Tottenham's 2023-24 kit launch amid the transfer speculation.

Manchester United are looking to sign a new number nine this summer and have seemingly identified Kane as their leading target, but Spurs are unlikely to be willing to sell him to a domestic rival.

Real Madrid have also recently been linked with the forward, as Carlo Ancelotti's side are seeking a replacement for Karim Benzema following his surprise move to Saudi Arabia.

Bayern, who were heavily linked with the Three Lions skipper last summer, had allegedly dropped down the pecking order when it comes to the race for Kane.

However, according to The Athletic, Thomas Tuchel's side remain hopeful of convincing the striker to make the move to Allianz Arena during the summer market.

The report claims that Juventus' Dusan Vlahovic and Eintracht Frankfurt's Kolo Randal Muani are also on the club's shortlist, but Kane is the leading target in the final third of the field.

Bayern decided against signing a replacement for Robert Lewandowski when the Poland international left for Barcelona during last summer's transfer window.

However, the Munich outfit are in the market for a new striker this summer, and Kane is said to be wanted by senior figures at the club.

The striker's contract situation at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium could ultimately force Spurs to let the Englishman leave this summer, and chairman Daniel Levy would favour a sale abroad rather than to a Premier League rival.

Kane is Tottenham's all-time leading goalscorer with 280, but he has not won a single trophy at senior level, while Spurs will not be able to offer European football during the 2023-24 campaign. body check tags ::
