Bayern Munich are reportedly preparing to test uncertainty at Tottenham Hotspur with a 'persuasive' offer for star striker Harry Kane this summer.
The England captain is facing an uncertain future in North London as his contract is due to expire at the end of next season.
Since failing to secure a move to Manchester City in the summer of 2021, Kane has been heavily linked with a transfer to Manchester United, who are in the market for a new centre-forward ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.
German giants Bayern have also been credited with an interest as they continue their search to recruit a successor to Robert Lewandowski, who joined Barcelona last summer.
Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting has admirably filled in as their first-choice central striker this season, scoring 17 goals in 28 games across all competitions, but it is understood that Bayern will step up their pursuit of a new No.9 this summer.
According to The Independent, Bayern believe that they can make a convincing case to lure Kane to the Allianz Arena this summer.
Although it is thought that Kane would prefer to remain in England and attempt to break Alan Shearer's all-time Premier League goalscoring record, the report adds that the perennial Bundesliga winners have not been discouraged from pursuing a deal for the 29-year-old.
Kane is said to be frustrated with the lack of progress made at Tottenham, who parted company with head coach Antonio Conte last month and currently sit fifth in the Premier League table, three points behind fourth-placed Man United who have a game in hand.
Kane's future in North London will likely depend on the club's next managerial appointment, although chairman Daniel Levy remains determined to keep hold of the striker and is against selling him to a Premier League rival.
However, with Kane's contract continuing to run down, Levy's control of the striker's future is weakening and Tottenham face the prospect of either losing their star man for free in the summer of 2024 or being forced to negotiate a transfer.
Bayern, who can all but guarantee regular Champions League football and domestic silverware, are therefore keeping tabs on Kane's situation with a view to testing the waters with a summer bid.
A recent report claims that Bayern's hopes of signing Kane have been boosted following the appointment of former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel, who is keen to improve his first-team squad with big-money summer arrivals.
Kane is both Tottenham and England's all-time record goalscorer, netting 273 goals in 427 games for Spurs as well as 55 strikes in 82 international caps for the Three Lions.
Bayern have also been credited with an interest in Napoli's leading marksman Victor Osimhen, who has enjoyed a stellar campaign for the Serie A champions-elect this season, scoring 25 goals in 29 appearances across all tournaments. body check tags ::
