PSV Eindhoven have denied that Kevin Strootman is nearing a switch to Serie A side Roma.
Reports had suggested that the 23-year-old, who has also been linked with Manchester United, was on his way to the Italian capital for a fee in the region of £17m.
However, PSV director Marcel Brands has once again stated that the midfielder is not for sale.
"Roma have contacted us to tell us that they are interested in Kevin Strootman," Brands told Fox Sports. "We have told Roma that Strootman is not for sale, and only an important offer could convince us otherwise.
"In our opinion, Roma is the only club to be interested in Strootman, but they have made no offer."
The Dutch international's agent Chiel Dekker said that his client is in no rush to leave the Philips Stadion.
"We are aware of the interest and the communication between PSV and Roma, but we will only come into action when Marcel Brands gives the signal that both clubs have come to an agreement," he told De Telegraaf.
Strootman joined PSV from Utrecht in 2011.
