Alexander Buttner has insisted that Manchester United have no intention of selling or loaning him out this summer.
Recent reports had suggested that the Red Devils were prepared to part with the 24-year-old, who has made just three Premier League appearances since his switch from Vitesse Arnhem last summer.
However, the Dutchman has claimed that the Man United coaching staff view him as a successor to fellow left-back Patrice Evra.
"I'm doing very well and the club don't want to sell me," Buttner told Omroep Gelderland.
"Manchester United see me as a successor for Evra, so they won't loan me out to another club. After this, I am aiming for a successful pre-season ahead of the new season."
Buttner has made 11 outings for United in all competitions.
