Edinson Cavani will reportedly be paid double the wages of recent signings Bruno Fernandes and Donny van de Beek when he formally signs for Manchester United.
A deal for the free agent, who has been without a club since leaving Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last season, is believed to be on the verge of going through.
United do not have to pay anything for the Uruguay international in terms of a transfer fee, but the deal will still set them back many millions of pounds in wages and agents' fees.
According to a report carried by talkSPORT, Cavani will instantly become one of the Red Devils' top earners, taking home twice as much as Fernandes and Van de Beek.
Cavani's rumoured £200,000-a-week salary is equal to Marcus Rashford and behind only Anthony Martial, Paul Pogba and David de Gea, the latter earning roughly £375,000 a week.
Meanwhile, United are thought to be working on a deal to bring in Ousmane Dembele on loan from Barcelona.
