Chelsea have reportedly placed RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner at the top of their shortlist ahead of the January transfer window.
With funds to spend after the sales of Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata, Frank Lampard is expected to make at least one high-profile addition at the midway point of the campaign.
According to The Express, Werner is on the Blues' radar after helping Leipzig to the top of the Bundesliga standings and through to the last 16 of the Champions League.
The Germany international has contributed a remarkable 21 goals and seven assists from 23 appearances, ensuring that Chelsea will face fierce competition for his signature.
Liverpool, Manchester United and Bayern Munich are also said to hold an interest in the 23-year-old, who is said to have a £27m release clause in his contract.
However, regardless of the offers which will inevitably come his way, Werner may opt to see out the campaign at his current club.
