Chelsea have reportedly entered the fray for Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea.
The Spaniard, who has had an inconsistent stint at Old Trafford since moving to the club from Atletico Madrid 18 months ago, has been linked with a switch to Barcelona, who are expected to relinquish the services of Victor Valdes at the end of the season.
While the Catalans are thought to be in the running, it has emerged that Chelsea could rival the Spanish giants for De Gea's signature following their failed attempt to land Birmingham City shot-stopper Jack Butland in the January transfer window, according to Spanish newspaper AS.
While De Gea's future at Old Trafford is uncertain, recent reports have suggested that the Red Devils are keen to sign Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic in the summer.
