Manchester United have reportedly offered David de Gea £200,000 a week to remain at Old Trafford beyond the end of the season.
The Spanish keeper, who joined the Red Devils from Atletico Madrid in 2012, will enter the final year of his contract this summer and has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid.
According to Daily Star, United are willing to make De Gea one of the highest-paid shot-stoppers in world football in order to retain his services.
However, the 24-year-old is said to be taking his time over a decision on his future, although he is expected to outline his plans before the end of the season.
While De Gea is not desperate to leave United, it is thought that the lure of a return to the Spanish capital is proving difficult for the player to resist.
United, who are currently third in the Premier League table, face Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday.
