David de Gea is willing to sign a contract extension with Manchester United, according to reports in Spain.
A deal to see De Gea move to Real Madrid on transfer deadline day was scuppered by late paperwork, and AS now claims that the 24-year-old is aware that he will only play for United if he agrees a contract extension.
The report suggests that De Gea's agent, Jorge Mendes, has held meetings with the club as the goalkeeper looks to keep active with regular first-team games, as well as maintaining his place in the Spain national squad.
Vicente del Bosque this week admitted that he would struggle to include De Gea in his Spain squad for Euro 2016 should he fail to regain regular playing time at United.
