Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson will pen a new contract with the Red Devils on the condition that he is promised the number one spot at Old Trafford, according to a report.
The 23-year-old has enjoyed a stellar campaign on loan at European hopefuls Sheffield United, keeping 11 clean sheets from 29 Premier League appearances for the Blades.
There has been talk of Henderson challenging David de Gea for the number one jersey at Old Trafford following the latter's under-par performances this term, and Henderson has supposedly made his intentions clear amid speculation regarding the goalkeeper's next career move.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Henderson will commit his long-term future to the Red Devils if he is made United's first-choice goalkeeper for next season.
The report claims that Henderson has plenty of options should he decide to leave the red side of Manchester, with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur both rumoured to be keeping tabs on his future.
The Englishman's current deal with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side is set to run until the end of the 2021-22 season.
