Borussia Dortmund are reportedly weighing up whether to make a summer move for Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood.
The Bundesliga outfit are currently preparing for Saturday's Champions League final clash against Real Madrid, a fixture that is likely to see Red Devils loanee Jadon Sancho feature in some capacity.
Sancho has made a positive impact at BVB since returning to the club on a temporary basis from Man United, where he fell out of favour following a bust-up with manager Erik ten Hag earlier in the season.
The 24-year-old, who has been tipped to make a permanent move to Dortmund this summer, has chipped in with two goals and three assists in 20 appearances for the club during the second half of the season and was a standout performer in the Champions League semi-final triumph over Paris Saint-Germain earlier this month.
Another Man United man who has performed well on loan is Sancho's English compatriot Greenwood, who has starred at La Liga club Getafe.
Dortmund consider Greenwood swoop
Greenwood, who has not played for Man United since January 2022, was suspended by the Red Devils amid allegations of attempted rape, assault and controlling and coercive behaviour.
Following a lengthy investigation, the Crown Prosecution Service dropped all charges against the forward in February 2023, seven months before he moved to Getafe on a season-long loan deal.
Greenwood scored 10 goals and provided six assists in 36 appearances for Getafe across all competitions and was recently named the club's Player of the Season.
Both Juventus and Atletico Madrid have been credited with an interest in Greenwood, but The Sun reports that Borussia Dortmund will consider making a move for the Englishman after the Champions League final.
Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has remained coy over possible incomings at the club this summer, but he has refused to rule out a potential swoop for Greenwood.
Speaking to reporters ahead of the Champions League final, Kehl said: "I don't want to talk about any rumours now at the moment because it makes no sense.
"Let's play that final on Saturday. Of course we do have our plans for the next season and of course we discuss many scenarios, but nothing for today. Let's focus, let's anticipate that match on Saturday and then we'll see how we move on."
Greenwood "very happy and comfortable" in Spain
Greenwood, meanwhile, has admitted that he feels "very happy and comfortable" in Spain following a successful loan spell at Getafe.
After receiving his Player of the Season award, Greenwood told the club's media channel: "It feels amazing to receive this kind of award. I wouldn't be able to get this achievement if it wasn't for my teammates and the coaching staff. Everybody has done well with helping me to get this award and I want to say thank you to them.
"I think we've done very well. We could have got some extra points here and there to try and push into European places but it hasn't been possible. I feel very happy and comfortable here, it's been an amazing experience."
It is understood that Getafe are keen to keep Greenwood for next season, but Man United would prefer to cash in on the forward this summer. body check tags ::
