Manchester United have reportedly failed with an approach to sign Juventus winger Douglas Costa.
While United are being strongly linked with Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has identified a list of alternatives.
Having fallen down the pecking order at Juventus, Costa is one of the names which is said to feature on the Norwegian's shortlist.
However, according to Calciomercato, the Brazil international would prefer to fight for his place at the Italian champions.
The 30-year-old has only been used as a substitute in Juve's opening Serie A fixtures against Sampdoria and Roma.
Costa's stance would also seemingly end the possibility of a switch to Wolverhampton Wanderers, who have also been monitoring the situation.
