Erling Braut Haaland is reportedly desperate to join Barcelona this summer and will give the Catalan outfit every chance to raise the money required to sign him ahead of next season.
The 21-year-old is widely expected to leave Borussia Dortmund during this summer's transfer window, when a £63m release clause in his contract becomes active.
Despite interest from the Premier League in the shape of Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea, Real Madrid were believed to be the favourites for the Norway international, who had allegedly set his sights on a move to Bernabeu.
However, according to the Daily Star, Haaland is determined to secure a switch to Barcelona and will delay a decision on his future in the hope that the Catalan club can raise the funds to sign him.
The report claims that Xavi's side, who still have huge financial problems, would need to raise £300m to acquire the striker, including agent fees and his salary on a long-term deal.
Haaland has scored 23 goals and registered six assists in 20 appearances for BVB this season, while he has netted 80 times and provided 21 assists in 79 outings for the German outfit since his arrival in January 2020. body check tags ::
