The Belgian Football Association have allowed Marouane Fellaini to delay joining up with the national team in order to seal a move from Everton to Manchester United.
The midfielder was expected to meet with his fellow countrymen on Monday ahead of their upcoming encounter with Scotland, but officials have granted him special dispensation ahead of a possible transfer.
United are reported to be closing in on the 25-year-old as talks continue between the two clubs.
The Premier League champions are also believed to be working on a deal to bring Fellaini's Everton teammate Leighton Baines to Old Trafford.
