Manchester United are reportedly worried that their bid for Mats Hummels could be derailed by Ilkay Gundogan's decision to leave Borussia Dortmund.
In recent months, the Red Devils have been linked with a move for both players as Louis van Gaal continues to rebuild his squad at Old Trafford.
According to the Manchester Evening News, the announcement of Die Borussien sporting director Michael Zorc that Gundogan is leaving Signal Iduna Park has made United concerned that Dortmund will only sell one of their stars this summer.
That could mean that German World Cup-winning defender Hummels stays put with the Bundesliga giants rather than move to the Premier League.
However, those fears might be eased following the departure of Jurgen Klopp as the club's manager, with new coach Thomas Tuchel possibly getting more leeway as he rebuilds the team in his image.
