Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder David Howells has insisted that the club should not sell Luka Modric for less than their valuation.
The 26-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer, but Howells believes that the Croatian should not be sold on the cheap.
"His stock certainly hasn't gone down. He had a terrific Euros and he is a top, top player. I think Tottenham are determined to sell him overseas which probably means to one of the Spanish clubs, which would suit his game down to the ground," Howells told talkSPORT.
"I don't see that his stock has gone down. He's a magnificent player and it will be a shame to lose him but it's just one of those things you have to accept and move on."
Manchester United have also been credited with an interest in the playmaker.
