Mats Hummels has signed a new five year contract at Borussia Dortmund to commit his future to the German champions.
The central defender has impressed for Dortmund this year and Manchester United were rumoured to be considering a bid but manager Jurgen Klopp has moved quickly to tie the 23-year-old down for the foreseeable future.
Klopp told the club's website: "Mats Hummels could have moved to practically any club in Europe, but he has chosen Borussia Dortmund and that is a great story.
"Mats is a highly-intelligent player in terms of winning tackles and closing people down and I don't know anybody across the whole continent who does it as well as he."
Hummels is currently with the German national side preparing for Euro 2012.
